Help your child find their peg and put their coats and bags away. You are welcome to bring your child into the hall, or hand over at the door – whichever works best for your child.
Children explore the environment and choose activities for themselves, both with adults and with friends. There are a wide range of activities throughout the space including books, puzzles, small world toys, construction and crafts. These are changed based on the children’s interests and topics that are introduced throughout the year.
Children are also encouraged to play outside, where we have a large sand pit, mud kitchen, Wendy house and large ride on toys.
The learning is guided by the children and adults are there to support and extend their play. They may also encourage your child to widen their interests or introduce them to something new.
During the morning children will also be given a healthy snack. This ranges from fruits and vegetables to crackers, cheese and toast. Children sit together with an adult and this time is used to talk, shares stories and build bonds with each other.
As children grow and their attention develops, they are also encouraged to join in small group activities and more focussed learning. This ranges from singing songs, listening games, large activities designed to develop literacy or numeracy skills and language development. Children are introduced to these activities when the highly experienced team think they are ready. Parents are included in these conversations and can help guide the decisions too.

We follow a play-based curriculum that focuses on developing children's confidence and curiosity for the world. We focus on the individual child and their own interests, tailoring our play based activities and interactions to help them build skills across all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
Each half term we have a 'theme' which exposes the children to new and exciting concepts and language and gently support the children to have a go at a range of activities linked to the theme. Children can continue to explore their own interests alongside these themes are are encouraged to help make decisions about the provision in the environment.
Everything we do helps children to become:
CONFIDENT: in themselves and their own abilities, in sharing their thoughts and feelings and in the adults that support them to do so, in trying new things and believing they can achieve.
CURIOUS: creating excitement for the new and different, asking 'why' and 'how' and helping to work things out for themselves, loving learning and enjoying 'finding out', having a sense of awe and wonder for the word around them
CARING: understand how to care for others and feel cared for, understand their role in caring for the environment, both inside and outside the Nursery, build positive relationships with the adults and children in the Nursery and enjoy being part of our community.
We ask you to provide:
· A re-usable filled & named water bottle
· Named wellies (when wet)
· Coats / hats etc (children will be using the outdoor area in all weather conditions)
· Spare clothes in case of accidents
All pupils are provided with a healthy snack and are offered milk each morning, provided by the Nursery.
You will receive photos and videos of your child over the week that shows what they are up to and how they spend their time with us. This is through the Tapestry Online Journal.
Please feel free to speak to the team at the beginning or end of each session if you have any questions. We are more than happy to talk through how your child is settling and what they like to do with their time.
